Very pretty little village, home to Sarah Nelson's Grasmere Gingerbread shop (See my shopping tip).

Also the location of Dove Cottage, home to William Wordsworth who is buried in the village churchyard - the church is 13th century.

Dove Cottage and Museum are open daily (closed for 4 weeks in Jan./Feb.) from 9:30am-5:30pm. Cottage by guided tour.
Tel: +44 (0)15394 35544.

Grasmere itself is a very pretty little lake.

Address: Near Ambleside, off A591
