Beautiful 70ft waterfall (the highest in the Lake District I believe) set in the middle of a Victorian Arboretum. Lovely walk leading around the waterfall. There are lots of steps and slope so you need to be nimble on your feet.

Warning: Beware if it's been raining recently. As we went in November there were LOTS of soggy leaves underfoot and as I was only wearing trainers/sneakers, my feet were soaked when I got back to the car :o(

The poet Wordsworth is reputed to have been heavily inspired by the landscape here.

The area is owned by the National Trust. There is a pay and display car park.

Address: Near Glenridding by Lake Ullswater
Directions: Grid Ref 90: NY 399205
From the A5292 which runs along the side of Lake Ullswater, take the A5091. Aira Force is signposted.
