If you have a car then you can stay in one of private accommodation near the park. Note that there are no villages nor accommodation options within the park itself. The nearest place is Rakovica, situated some 8 kilometres north of Entrance 1. If you like camping, there is also a camp here - for details check the NP Plitvice website.

Unique Qualities: If you are without a car then private accommodation is maybe not the best option. Buses to the coast just rush through Rakovica and are not very happy to receive passengers for only a few kilometres. On the other hand, walking for 6-7 kilometres along the busy road is not a very pleasant experience.

You could try contacting some owners in advance and ask them if they would pick you up at one of the entrances to the Park.
