It was just chance that I came here during Buffalo Bill Days, held at the end of July. It was when I was driving down the hill towards Downtown Golden that I saw that the street was blocked off and people were wandering the street. Cars were not absent as a classic car show was being held and people (especially men) oogled over the engines, rims, and paint jobs. Buffalo Bill Days started as a trail ride (on horses) from Golden to Buffalo Bill's Grave in the 1950's. When the riders returned people came out to meet them and soon it was called a parade. During Buffalo Bill Days you can take part in a golf tournament, drink a few beers, and enjoy food from the booths like hot dogs, chicken, corn on the cob and snowcones. A car show is held on Washington Street and even though I never saw my dream car - the '72 Dodge Charger I did see lots of Studebakers and AMC cars from the 50's and 60's.

Directions: Along Washington Street in Downtown
