Curly's Coffee Shop: "Breakfast in North Beach - Closed" Top 5 Page for this destination San Francisco Restaurant Tip by davequ

Curly's was one of the few places on my last July 2005 trip close to Columbus Ave in North Beach where I could find standard american breakfast fare in an inexpensive diner setting and pay with a credit card.
Definitely nothing fancy, but decent eggs & whatnot, nice waitress / mgr was always pleasant, kept the coffee cup full, never forgot the tobasco, etc.
Curly's did the trick, and let me hang onto my cash as well.
And the strange "curly-sign" out front always manages to scare me awake.
Favorite Dish: Closed - now you're stuck in the line at Mama's
Where does the working class eat hangover breakfast and ramen now?
OJ, bacon & eggs. Prices were very good, always <$10.
And due to the fact that North Beach can be a "cash-hoover" with so many cash-only things like parking, it was convenient to be able to use a credit card when your cash is low first thing in the morning and you haven't yet made it to the ATM.
Address: 1624 Powell Street
Price Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: North beach on Powell Street, 2 streets "west" of Columbus, Btwn Union and Green
Price: less than US$10
