In Sousse and Tunis I used regularly the local busses. The bus networks in most of the towns are extensive.
There is a also a good national bus network, the SNTR, operating between all major towns. The busses are fast, comfortable and not expensive. The national busses are air-conditioned, the regional busses are not.
I didn´t hardly travel by public bus in the country. I made a busride Tunis - Bizerte in the north. It was very comfortable and reliable.
