Little Chef: "Food on the go!" Little Chef Tip by kzngirl

Little Chef restaurants are familiar ? if not quite favourite ? haunts of the UK motorist. Invariably every journey into, across and around the UK leads past a service station: small clutches of shops ? the obligatory restrooms, newsagents, the odd Costa coffee and more often than not a Little Chef.

There is usually a wait for a table, there is usually a wait for the service and the food you order has to be EXACTLY as the menu describes. There can be no creative swopping of Little Chef cuisine.

If the scrambled eggs are offered with bacon and not sausage, you cannot exchange the bacon for sausage, but you can ask for no bacon and a side plate of sausage ? for which you pay extra!

On my visits, I have often resorted to eating only a bacon bap for I feel not much damage can be done to two rashers and bread roll. Add lashings of HP Sauce and a piping hot cup of strong tea and you have yourself a fair breakfast.

It is not glamorous dining, nor is its presentation spectacular or taste phenomenal, but in a pinch it does the job.
