"War Memorial Opera House" San Francisco Things to Do Tip by mydreamquest

Last June or so 2004, I was lucky enough to meet, get autographs from and be taken in a picture with the lovely Russian Soprano Ana Netrebko. Of course, my hair was all messed up and my expression classically clueless, I am still proud to have met her.

At the SF Opera, stick around after the shows and you can meet the performers. This is Ana after a performance she in Puccini's "La Boheme." She played the charming character of Musetta.

This picture is of the opera house on Sunday, November 13, 2005, taken across the street in front of San Franisco's lovely City Hall. It was built in 1932, around the same time the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges were.

The Post World War II United Nations Charter was established and signed in the War Memorial Operahouse on June 26, 1945.
