"Take the bus" Sweden Transportation Tip by lukky

Sweden Transportation: 97 reviews and 106 photos

If you are planning to go to a place that doesn't have a train station, the chances are very good that there will be a bus to that place, as public transport is generally good in Sweden. The bus is also the easiest way of getting around in the northern part of Sweden, if you don't have your own car.

Swebus Express (www.swebusexpress.se) has many bus lines in the south of Sweden. You can buy your ticket directly from the bus driver, or from ticket booths in some bus stations.

There are several smaller bus operators too. On http://www.resplus.se/ you can search for what bus companies have services between the two places you want to travel between. There is an English and a German version, choose language and then "express coaches" (or the German equivalent...).

Each county ("län") in Sweden also has their own bus company, serving most villages and towns. http://www.jarnvag.net/lankar/reseinfo.shtml has a list of the county buses, scroll down for "Länstrafikbolag".
