... a different kind of restuarant: "Prickly Pear" Antigua and Barbuda Restaurant Tip by q8ian

Antigua and Barbuda Restaurants: 42 reviews and 103 photos

Prickly Pear island is about half a mile off the coast between Hodges Bay and Jabbawok Beach - so you need a boat to get there. You can get this from Miguels Adventures at Hodges Bay or take your own. The channel in is not easy and there are lots of coral heads though. The "restuarant" is a shack on the tiny beach built from driftwood and second hand timber but totally in keeping with its surroundings. The foods great and the cold beer just keeps coming. Your own desert island.
Its a day trip really and the snorklings great - lots of fish and if you look hard turtles are there too.

Favorite Dish: Curried conch - Antiguan

Address: Prickly Pear Island
Price Comparison: about average
Directions: Once you are there its difficult to miss - get a boat from Miguels Adventures - beside the road through Hodges Bay - there is a small sign (though it says nothing about Prickly Pear)
Price: US$11-20
Rating: 4
Theme: Local
