Favorite thing: The Golden Gate Bridge gets the spotlight in San Francisco. It is the most known and most picturesque bridge in the area. Just ask the thousands of tourists swarming around and over it, taking pictures and video of this famous landmark. But San Francisco has other bridges as well, and some are even more impressive from an architectural standpoint.

The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge is a pretty spectacular sight. It was built before the Golden Gate Bridge and is even longer. Yet, it receives very little attention except from those that drive over it, as most do so with just a little bit of trepidation. The bridge was damaged during a prior earthquake and is reported to be unsafe. Or structurally unsound or whatever the term is. But many people, including tour guides, comment on the unsafeness of this bridge.

If you're traveling across the bay, you'll undoubtedly notice this bridge. Even admired from afar, it is quite impressive. It is also easier to photograph as most tourists are pointing their camera lenses elsewhere, straining for one more photograph of the Golden Gate Bridge.
