San Francisco really loves its cable cars. It loves them so much that it devotes a small museum to the cars and doesn't even charge admission for entering.

I wouldn't call the Cable Car Museum a must see activity and I doubt too many people would. But it is an interesting place to browse around for a bit. There are several older cable cars on display, in addition to exhibits which explain the process for operating the cars and a museum which sells cable car souveniers.

The museum is conveniently located along the Powell street cable car line. For the ultimate experience, you can ride the cable car to the museum.
