I first saw the Musee Mecanique at the Travel Channel. I thought it pretty cool that somebody has the passion to collect these antique mechanical wonders and was generous enough to share them with others. I then saw "The Princess Diaries" and knew that I had to see The Laughing Lady and The Arm Wrestling Dude (my names) in person.

Fortunately, the museum has moved to Pier 45 at Fisherman's Wharf from its original location at the Cliff House. Thus, it is now more accessible to the public.

By the way, I tried out the Arm Wrestling Dude and, before a large crowd, he soundly beat me--thrice. The crowd was sympathetic--and pitying. I decided to try the other less humiliating arcade machines.
