The house of nobility is a large house in the old town, just next to the Riddarholmen island. It's a 17th century building and it was the place where the nobility held it's sessions during the days of the old parliament with 4 different bodies, the Nobility, the burghers, the clergy and the farmers.

In the 1860's that parliament was succeeded by the two-chamber parliament that was in use until around 1970 when our present day one chamber parliament was introduced.
