There are great examples of early 19th century homes in the Gamlebyn area. There are shops to see potters, candle makers, jewelers make their craft. The homes are all typical of the time period and were moved here like the rest of the buildings. There is an exhibit of Norwegian townhouses through the centuries with decorative pieces and sounds of the times. There is also an old drinking house and two-storey suburbian apartment.
The working class lived in quite different conditions as exhibited by the Enerhaugen area. The homes date back to 1890 and were typical for the era in their appearance and style of decoration.
