"Gol Stave Church-Norwegian Folk Museum" Norwegian Folk Museum Tip by bpwillet
Norwegian Folk Museum, Oslo: 54 reviews and 133 photos
Built in 1200 in the town of Hallingdal it is only one of 30 stave churches that have been preserved in Norway. It was moved here to the peninsula in 1885. The structure mixes Christian and pagan themes with the carved dragon or serpent heads and the small imps around the gables. The interior has a carved and painted alter that depict the last supper and other followers of Jesus.
