Burg Hasegg complete with medieval tavern
by hundwalder

This photo also shows Burg Hasegg from the courtyard. To the right is burgtaverne. The Gothic medieval appearance and character of the tavern have been superbly retained. The ambience almost gives you the feeling of being transported back 700 years in time. The modern beer now served there is much tastier than the grainy medieval ale was though. Consider stopping in for some refreshment or a meal.

The embeded Gothic arch stained glass windows are among the best I have ever seen. The classic Tirolean Gothic architecture of Burg Hasegg is truly impressive. The best thing about this castle is that it has never been given a major facelift. It is the genuine original article.

A tour of castle and coin mintage museum are worthwhile. You can even mint your own miniature taler there.

Address: Unterer Stadtplatz / Munzergasse
Directions: See my previous Hasegg tip for directions and parking.
