Zocalo: "Hand-slapped tortillas" Top 5 Page for this destination Philadelphia Restaurant Tip by acemj

Zocalo is a decent University City option (near the University of Pennsylvania campus), if you're in the mood for Mexican. It's grown over the years into a mult-room restaurant and has a cool outdoor patio that is enjoyable in good weather. They make their tortillas by hand right in front of you, as if you're on the street in Mexico.

Favorite Dish: Last time I was there, I had an appetizer that was basically tortillas served with a pumpkin seed dipping sauce that was good. I also had a pretty good skirt steak and for dessert I had cojeta, which was homemade vanilla bean ice cream with a goat cheese caramel sauce.
