  The National Museum Atestino
by croisbeauty

The National Museum Atestino is housed in the 15th century palace, which the Mocenigo family erected on the site of original castle Carrarese. Many artifacts are displayed from Paleovenetian, Roman, Medieval and Renaissance times. These valuable exibits , such as a "Madonna and Child" by Cima di Conegliano, make the museum one of the most important in Italy.
The museum also displays Roman findings from the private collections of Alessi and Contarini, along with numerous tombstones found in area of Este.
