First of all I want to say that the Vatican and St. Peter they are not Rome. Known to be the largest church in the world, the basilica was built in 1506 and in time projects changed a lot, the columns were added and so on. My advice is to go there and watch it from the middle of the square to have an idea of how huge and great it is. Then if you have the chance try to go to the top of the "cupola".

Address: Piazza San Pietro
Directions: Subway line A "Ottaviano - San Pietro" stop
