Oxford Street has long been a prime shopping location. The main attraction is its 300 shops and landmark stores. Whether you want designer clothing or affordable fashion, Oxford Street has a store to cater for you.

What to buy: Selfridges is one of street's most famous stores, and it has recently earned a well-deserved reputation for being a good place to source contemporary designer clothes.
Dolce and Gabanna, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen have all taken up residency. The store also has an extensive men's section, a comprehensive food hall, nineteen quality eateries, a giant cosmetics hall and even a tattoo and piercing studio on the ground floor.

Further down the street you will find all the well recognised chain stores; Debenhams, Marks and Spencer, John Lewis and House of Fraser. Marks and Spencer's flagship it has the widest range of Collette Dinnigan lingerie, clothing and of course, foods. HMV, Borders and Gap. New Look has a prominent store here.

What to pay: Go there when the Sales start you can get the best bargain.
