Ponte del Diavolo - Devil's Bridge
by ant1606

This medieval town stands where the Lanzo Valleys open, a complex of three main valleys.
Val Grande, Valle di Ala and Valle di Viu' are the closest and fastest mountain environments to be reached from Turin. Even a day-trip to these places is recommendable for short hikes, mountain bike trails or rock climbing.
Several mountain huts (rifugi) are available in the area for overnight stay. Go to http://www.icip.it/cailanzo/rifugi.htm for a list of "Rifugi" in this area. The only such facility accessible by car is Rifugio Citta' di Cirie' at Pian della Mussa, at the very end of Val di Ala road.

Lanzo has a long history, dating back to the roman age, and for its balm air it's considered today a vacation place and destination.
Take a little time to visit the Devil's Bridge small park, where the romanic "Ponte del Diavolo" still stands as it was when built in late 1300.

Directions: Ax. 30 Km northwest of Turin
