North of Kitale you can camp in the lovely garden of the former farmhouse of the Barnley family. You can camp, but also rent a permanent furnished tent or a room in the house. Since 1978 the place is run by Jane and Julia Barnley.

We arrived late. It was allready dark and it was raining heavily. The furnished tents were all booked ( 750 sh a bed), so we decided to take a comfortable room (3500 sh) in the house instead of using our own tent.

Sirikwa Safaris also offers an all weather banda, kitchen facilities, hot showers, fire wood, electricity and barbeques

Unique Qualities: Sirikwa is situated in a lovely area with apparent '' Sirikwa Holes''. The area is full of these depressions which, excavated by purpose or chance, produced ancient tools and smelted rock, both relics of former mines.
