Folk ensemble at the Mondial des Cultures...
by vibi68

Dating the late 70's, this Festival Mondial des Cultures de Drummondville's high in color and very eclectic festival attracts over 300 000 visitors each year. This 2005 edition will be held from July 7th to July 17th with activities and perfomances by no less than 1000 artists and folk ensemble, scheduled on everyday of the week. Amongst represented countries are Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, South Corea, Croatia, U.S.A., France, Mexico and so many more; over 45 countries who will happily perform dancing, singing or hability dislaying for the great pleasure of their audience. Entrance to the site is $18.00 for the eleven days (pin), $12.00 for one day (bracelet), admission for children under 12 is free. Some shows are not free and need to be booked in advance. This is really a great festival to attend, children love its parade (Tuesday, July 12th, 19h30 in the Drummondville's streets, rescheduled for the 13th if rainy) and all flamboyant colors of costumes and artistic display, great music and dancing. This is a must if you are in Montréal or Québec city around those dates, as it is a bit more than an hour from Montreal (off higway 20 going north-east) and a little more than an hour and half from Quebec city (off highway 20 going south-west).
