"Times and laws are different" Spain Nightlife Tip by magictravelers

Spain is different. Kids are legal to drink beer or wine from age 16 (I have seen a 12 yr old drinking and smoking); most bars and dancing places allow 16 yr old in (no id check); smoking is allowed from very warly ages (most people smoke_the most want to die sonner than later), and bars open at 1 am.
So you better get your biological clock adjusted if you want to go dancing..
We usually go and have dinner at about 11 pm, then have a drink or 2 at some bar and then head to our dance club.
There are a lot of ways of making you consume. They may let you in for free but must consume 1 or 2 drinks, may pay an (high) amount, but that will include 2 tickets for drinks, or you may go in for a modest price or even for free, but will have to pay 8-10 euros for drink or 5-6 euros for a bottle of water, juice or soft drink.
As in the US, some have more than 1 room, with different types of music in each. some may have special themes (gay, brazilian, funk or salsa, etc.) If you are looking for a specific theme and have no suggestion, there are magazines on the streeet, you may ask the concierge or people you may find.
Dress code varies, but you´ll be safe going with regular shoes and pants (no tennis shoes or jens are allowed in the best places).
Be aware that Spain (and Europe) is a lot more open with nudity and you may run into hardly dressed waitresses or even people just like you who went to have fun.
Dress Code: Depends on the place you go. If you want to be safe, or plan to go bar hopping, or are not sure what you´ll find, avoid jeans, shorts, tennis shoes or sandals.
