The Round House, Fremantle: 24 reviews and 60 photos

You could once look through the Whalers Tunnel and see the Long Jetty in Bathers Bay The jetty (originally named Ocean Jetty) was the center of maritime activities in W.A. from the 1870s to the1920s. The jetty coupled with the South Jetty gave the total length of 3,294ft, thus the name Long Jetty. By the turn of the century the jetty had fallen into disuse but rather than demolish it, the council converted it into a promenade with a hall being added in 1906 for dances. Over the years the jetty area has become an attraction for bottle collectors and souvenir hunters which could be found along the length of the jetty site, in particular in the area where you can still see some of the old piles.
