"Highlights of the Met" Metropolitan Museum of Art Tip by londonlover
Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City: 193 reviews and 377 photos
Deciding which parts of the museum to see will depend on your taste in art, but for me, it's about 19th century European paintings. So some highlights for me were the cypress and flower paintings of Van Gogh, and the early to mid-career works of Monet featured in the European section.
Another highlight for me as a musician was the excellent collection of historical instruments, such as centuries-old bagpipes, Pagnini's violin strings, and exquisitely-carved pianos for European parlors.
See their website for a full description of the Museum's vast collection.
