There is a plateau where the 1st section of the falls thunders down 180 feet into a picturesque pool before dropping again another 80 feet into the creek. We wanted to get up there to check out the view. It was quite a challenging climb! There is no real "trail", just hints of places where others have climbed. It is quite steep in most parts, I had to grab roots and rocks to help me along. The view is worth it! When the trail finally levels out you emerge on the rim of a huge semicircular cutout in the mountain of rock. there is a precarious trail that goes completely around from one side to the other passing beneath the powerful waterfall.
Going down is a heck of a lot harder than climbing up. Gravity just wants to send you hurtling down the side of the mountain at top speed. Take it slow and be careful!
