""NORTH PARK" IN HOLDREGE" Holdrege Things to Do Tip by Rich62
Holdrege Things to Do: 5 reviews and 16 photos
Holdrege has a very nice park in the northwest part of town. It features a Bronze sculpture called "Promise of the Prairie" by noted sculptor George Lundeen, who grew up in this area. He presented this work of art to the people of Holdrege in 1983. The sculpture shows a pioneer family such as those who came through Nebraska on the Oregon Trail. The park also has a nice lake.
The second attached photo shows a smaller replica of the statue in a private home. This photo enables you to see better detail.
The remaining photos show North Park on a frosty January day.
Directions: Take highway 183 north in Holdrege until you get to 14th Avenue or 18th Avenue. Go east on either of these streets and you will soon reach the park. It is in the northwest part of town.
