"The Cathedral Treasury In Aachen" Germany Off The Beaten Path Tip by Paul2001
Germany Off The Beaten Path: 463 reviews and 746 photos
The Treasury museum for the Cathedral in Aachen is considered to be one of the finest in Germany. The museum houses an extremely important collection of ecclesiastical art with relics from various periods of Christian history. Among the collection, highlights include the "Cross of Lothair", the "Bust of Charlemagne" and the "Persephone sarcophagus", the latter of which I found to be quite spellbinding.
It costs 4 Euros to visit the treasury. It is opend from 10am to 6pm everyday but Mondays when it closes at 1pm and Thrusdays when it stays open until 9pm.
