The Norwegian goat was domesticated for its milk and meat. The milk is used to create the famous Norwegian goat cheese, known as brunost or geitost.
Goats eat almost any plant, but they prefer grass, leaves, twigs and berries.
Goats have a very good sense of balance and enjoy jumping and climbing games with their herd mates.
Goats are the first hoofed animals that were ever tamed, they are gregarious and found in Norwegian valleys grazing the grass and leaves of shrubs. They are friendly curious creatures that will approach you with the hope of getting a treat from you.

Directions:
You will see much more sheeps than goats in western Norway.
However a friendly goat herd can be seen in the beautiful scenic road that joins Skei and Syrkjelo.
