"Myrdal" Norway Things to Do Tip by munki

Norway Things to Do: 771 reviews and 1,349 photos

The 20km-long train journey from the mountain station of Myrdal and down to Flam deep in the fjord takes around 55 minutes by train. On the journey you have views of some of the most magnificent mountain scenery in the world.
Alternatively, you can walk down the scenic road from Myrdal to Flam. Some travellers prefer to get off at Myrdal train station and walk on foot all the Flam valley down to Flam and take the fantastic vistas at their own pace.
Another option, if you have a car you can drive a few kilometres up the hill from Flam, you will cross the rail track and find a deserted farm well worth a visit.
A few kilometres after you will find a small car park. From here the only option is to carry on foot. The scenery is stunning, after an hour walk you will pass a 400 metres long tunnel and you will see a waterfall and another deserted farm. Both of them well deserve a stop.
From here the road get very steeply all the way to Myrdal.
