Travelling in London can be a daunting experience, of that there is no doubt. The combination of buses, Tubes, railways, trams, the DLR, riverbuses and cabs, not to mention rickshaws (honestly) can be pretty intimidating.

The sole purpose of this tip is to try and guide the prospective traveller towards a very good website which offers a complete package of options for any particular journey.

It is run by Transport for London (TfL), a Government body, so the advice you get here is not commercially driven, and you can trust it (as far as you can trust anything about transport in London!).

The site is user friendly and normally pretty quick. As well as a travel planner system, it carries up to date information on travel problems. As a Londoner myself, I use it a lot,so I can probably pay it no higher compliment than that.
