Cheapper than a hotel: "Hostels" Spain Hotel Tip by magictravelers

Spain Hotels: 302 reviews and 357 photos

They vary depending on the number of stars. Pretty cheap way to travel with many choices. Be aware most times the prices are listed per person, not per room.
You may choose a room with a bathroom inside or one shared by a few rooms.
Many of them used to be huge houses and are now convered into a place to sleep. Many of then offer a kitchen, a TV room (many have it in the room), vending machines, Internet service in the lobby.
We find them a great choice when we have a tight schedule. Many times when you travel, you hardly spend any time in your room. Only use it to sleep and shower. So if you can do w/o ,uxury, do a Hostel. Most of them do not have air condinitioning (to keep inm mind for Summer travel). And a lot can obly offer single beds, which are a lot smaller than US single beds. But there are rooms with up to 6-8 beds easily (if you come with a group).
Now, check for any reviews since some of them are used by prostitutes, or are located in bad areas. What we do is find it in the map and see if there are any Hotels around. A 2 star hostel should be good, but if you can afford it, take a 3 star.

Price Comparison: less expensive than average
Price: US$20-40
Theme: Hostel
