Something special this way comes. A new kid on the Balaclava end of Carlisle Street and what a welcome it is too. Quite simply - stunning.
Nothing too fancy although care and thought has gone into the design. Long and thin, the seating has been purposely restricted to hugging the white walls. Tables are set to look into the centre of the room. Chocolate and white are the main colours here, with a touch of pastel blue (t-shirts of the waiters) to add an extra discrete splash of colour.

The added extra value to this place is that's its 5 minutes walk from home! But booking is essential, Wed-Sat, since the rave review it received from The Age newspaper. My one criticism is that they really are too close to my home!! I go there too often....:)

Favorite Dish: Open only a few months, chef Silvana Iacobaccio has already seriously impressed critics and locals alike with the diversity of her skills. Specials such as thrice cooked duck on beetroot and infused with an orange and chianti sauce is extraordinary, as is the hapuka. 'Standard' meals include excellent rib-eye, lamb cutlets all with their own unique tasting sauces and even the bruschetta is simply and mouth-wateringly good. Winter specials and the fact that they are now open for lunch has seen the inclusion of home made pasta and sauces, as well as evening pannini options .

    Hey Keith, just letting you know the name of this place has changed to, "EN Izakaya." It's a Japanese restaurant now. :-)
