"Cape Schanck (Mornington Peninsula)" Great Ocean Road Tip by leffe3

Great Ocean Road, State of Victoria: 75 reviews and 177 photos

The very southerly tip of the Mornington Peninsula is the MP National Park and Cape Schanck, it's a dramatic part of the coast - although overshadowed by the Great Ocean Road further west. Consequently it attracts more local tourists and the omnipotent golf enthusiast. There's a boardwalk from the Light House car park to the southerly tip, dropping a couple of hundred metres in a short space of time. Guided tours of the Light House (built in 1859) are available (10am-4.30pm daily). There are many walks from here along the coast, ranging from short bursts through to 8-10 hour marathons!

Directions: South-eastern coast of Australia between the Victorian cities of Torquay and Warrnambool
