"Contrary to what others have..." New Jersey Transportation Tip by gilly12

New Jersey Transportation: 66 reviews and 48 photos

Contrary to what others have written on this subject, a car is not your only option. The train is an EXCELLENT way to get around. You can take NJ Transit to almost every town within 70 miles of NYC/Newark. There is also a line that cuts across NJ from Philly to AC.
You can also take the PATH from NYC to Hoboken, Jersey City, and Newark.
A car is the best and most convenient way, but many times the train is better. Especially if you are trying to go to the shore on a summer weekend. The North Jersey Coast line runs from NYC/Newark along the shoreline to Bay Head. www.njtransit.com provides full route maps, schedules, and fares.

Mode: TO,AROUND
Type: Train
