Pha That Luang is the national monument of Laos. I like the lotus-design of this monument. Although Pha That Luang is just a stupa built/re-built not too long ago, it is a well-done art piece. (It was once destroyed ages ago in 1826). It is also the largest stupa in Laos.

Pha That Luang is considered one of the most important monument too. Every year in April when the Lao people celebrate the Laos New Year, there will be hordes of locals in their traditional costumes, celebrating the festive season at the stupa.

The golden stupa stands tall (5 levels) and proud in Vientiane and it is photogenic too. Happy clicking.

You will need to pay an entrance fee to get in.

Address: That Luang Road, Vientiane
