"The National Garden" National Garden Tip by Pieter11
National Garden, Athens: 37 reviews and 78 photos
Right next to the Parliament, you can find the National Garden. One of the few places in central Athens where you can find a green environment. This park is covered with the most beautiful trees and flowers and has even more to offer.
There are two pond with ducks and one with turtles, all provided with water by one canal. There also is a playground for children and a little zoo, so little kids can have the time of their life here.
The gardens originally were made for Queen Amalia in 1839. These royal gardens now are property of the Community of Athens. The gardens are opened all day, and are the perfect place to find some rest in the jungle of the big city.
Address: Amalias Street
Directions: At the right side from the Parliament, seen from Syntagma-square.
