These boat docks located on Silver Lake near the Cape Hatteras National Seashore Ocracoke Visitor's Center are open year round. There are public restrooms at the visitor's center but the docks have no showers.

Originally known as Cockle Creek, Silver Lake Harbor was established in 1931. The creek was dredged and a harbor and marina were constructed. This dredging made it possible for large vessels to come into dock. The controlling depth is 10 feet and there is no appreciable tide.

Equipment: Dockage fees during the summer season are 80 cents per boat foot per day capped at 80 feet or $64.00/day. 110 electrical service is an additional $3.00. There are two slips with 220 and the fee is $5/day.

The winter rate is 40 cents/foot and neither water nor electricity is available in the winter.

Fees are collected daily all year around including holidays except during Gale Warnings for the waters up to 20 miles offshore .

Reservations are not accepted.

Maximum stay is a total of 14 days between May 25th and September 10th. A new day starts at 12 noon.

It is also possible to anchor in Silver Lake.
