The entrance to the Maffeiano museum is just behind i Portoni della Bra. It is a lapidary museum created by Scipione Maffei in 1714, hence the name. It prides itself to be the oldest lapidary museum in Europe. It has a very rich collection of mostly locally found stone engravings from various periods.
