Brasserie "La Cabane": "The Best Filet Mignon... Cheap!" Cabane Du Portugal Tip by vibi68
Cabane Du Portugal, Montreal: 1 reviews and 0 photos
Very easy going place that feels a bit like an English Pub, at which you'll find great variety of local and imported beers. The medium-rare "filet mignon" has to be the best I've ever had (I've going there for the past 10 years and the quality never changed!). There is also a nice "menu du jour" on which it is not rare to see Mahi-Mahi fish, Salmon, and nice sea food as Calamaris, Mussels, etc. The pub is situated in the most eclectic and multi-ethnic area of the "Plateau": St-Laurent St. also for shopping, desserts, bars, clubs, etc. Smooth music, smoking permitted and casual service... with a smile! No surprises, just simple hearty food.
Favorite Dish: Medium-rare filet mignon, served with green pepper sauce, home made fries, rice and perfectly seasonned green salad... with a Sleeman "Honeybrown" beer of course!
Address: 3872 St-Laurent St.
Price Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: Close to Bagg St.,across from the famous Schwartz' 1938 smoked meat shop.
