Most of the items that you will see in the mine are carved out salt. However, there is one diorama that is made out of other materials, as shown in the picture.

This is supposed to represent the area that mine now stands on, in the 1800?s. In that time, the peasants knew of the value of salt and they used to mine it just from the outcroppings that they could view, poking out of the ground. This is what the diorama shows.
