"Altona" Top 5 Page for this destination Reserves Tip by leffe3

Reserves, Melbourne: 2 reviews and 8 photos

Altona itself has few redeeming factors to recommend it to visitors - a bayside western suburb a few kms from Williamstown. It has an OK beach, family-safe but with others on offer with better facilities, closer to places of interest etc there is little reason to travel out to Altona. But about half way between Altona and Williamstown is the JTGray Reserve, a stretch of marshland coast and inland waterways (and which becomes the Altona Coastal Park). Its slightly odd as the backdrop is the Petroleum Works, but with bird hides etc its quite a find, and there's a bicycle track all the banks of the Kororoit Creek.

Address: Maddox Rd, Altona
Directions: Off the Kororoit Creek Rd, running between Williamstown and Altona.

Review Helpfulness: 3.5 out of 5 stars
