Surely the Visconti Bridge had to be damaged since medieval times and then to rebuild and reconstructed to survive nowaday's way of traveling by cars. Anyway, the stone walls of the old bridge look impressive. They remaind me huge walls of Badia Palace in... Marrakesh, Morocco. Strange... isn't it?

The outside walls of both Visconti Bridge and the Badia Palace are doted with numerous holes in order to drain moisture out of the walls. But in the holes of the bridge iron grids have been set to prevent pigeons to nest inside and ruin the walls. I didn't notice them in Morocco, instead many pigeons hidden in deep shadow of the holes.
