"EATING KAGIT HELVA / WAFER HALVA" Karsiyaka Local Custom Tip by Arkeolog

It's not a real custom but it's really common in Karsiyaka. In the summertimes, people of Karsiyaka like to walk on seafront and they spend their times by the seaside. In the morning or in the evening it doesnt matter. During their walk people like to eat kagit helva . I know this from my childhood. It's really fun esp for children. actually adults like to eat it as well. You can buy kagit helva from ice cream shops. You can eat it plain or you can ask to ice cream seller to make a sandwich for u. (kagit helva-ice cream - kagit helva)
