  The Griffin of the City
by gordonilla

The City of London, is known as the Square Mile and is the heart of the UK's financial institutions. The London Stock Exchange being one of it's more notable business occupants.

In addition to the financial side of things, there are a great many historic sites and locations to be seen. Not forgetting the Barbican or the Whitbread Chiswell Street Brewery.

Word to the wise, many things are shut at the weekend; due to the nature of the "City's" inhabitants. They have their own Police Force and Commissioner, their own Council and Alderman, the Livery Companies of the Trades and of course the real Lord Mayor of the City of London.

The City's Heraldic symbol is the the Griffin.
