Yanchep Things to Do: 63 reviews and 100 photos

The first koala colony was established in the Park in 1938 and it was transferred to Yanchep from the Perth Zoo because the zoo was unable to provide enough feed for the animals. Unfortunately the original colony died before 1940. The new colony was re-established in 1948. In the early years, Yanchep National Park provided the only place in Western Australia where koala?s could be viewed. At the moment there are 11 koala?s in the boardwalk area.
