  Dunvegan Castle, Isle of Skye
by stevezero

Dunvegan Castle is the North of Scotland's oldest inhabited Castle, having been the seat and home of the MacLeod Chiefs for 800 years. Dunvegan Castle is a fortress stronghold in an idyllic lochside setting, surrounded by dramatic scenery, where seals play and eagles soar.
There is so much to see and do at Dunvegan Castle. There is a Walled Garden with its own Standing Stone and Pyramid, or visit the Pedigree Highland Cattle Fold.
Dunvegan Castle is also famous for its magnificent Water Gardens and Woodland Walks. You can visit the seal colony - a favourite with children and adults alike and take a fascinating and exhilarating boat trip through Loch Dunvegan to observe at close quarters these playful sea mammals - take your camera, you will get some photos.

Directions: near Dunvegan village, Isle of Skye, just off the A850
