"LAST WEEKEND IN MAY -DOORS OPEN TORONTO" Toronto Things to Do Tip by RACCOON1

If you happen to be visiting Toronto on the last weekend in May and are looking for something to do you might consider taking part in Doors Open Toronto. Doors Open Toronto is essentially an open house for approximately 150 buildings , most of which are not normally open to the public. Buildings open may have some architectural , historical , religious or cultural interest . Some are just of general interest. Some are open on saturday and sunday of that weekend , while others elect to be open on just one of the days. Admittance is free and some buildings attrack a crowd. A significant number of the buildings are located in the downtown area , and thus e asy to get to by TTC.

The photo , of " Beach Solar Laundromat", 2240 Queen St. East is a New building in 2006. It is just a laundromat but you get a 15 to 20 minute guided tour of the mechanical room and learn how a solar powered energy system works. . All people on the tour were impressed. The building has won a number of awards including " Best Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction" Award in Germany 2004.
